What We Collect

When you use The Soul Mechanic, we may collect:

• Your email address (when you sign up or complete the intake)
• Your responses to the intake assessment (your history, symptoms, patterns)
• Your evening check-in responses (daily mood, sleep quality, body state)
• Journal entries you write within the platform
• Usage data — which practices you complete, session timing, progress through your protocol
• Device and browser type (for technical support)

We do not sell your data. Ever.

How We Use It

• To build and adapt your personalized 30-day recovery protocol
• To generate your shadow archetype reading based on intake patterns
• To adjust daily content based on your evening check-in responses
• To send you session prompts, check-ins, and progress updates by email
• To improve the platform based on aggregated (anonymized) usage patterns

AI Processing

Your intake responses, check-ins, and usage patterns are processed by AI to generate personalized content, recommendations, and archetype readings. This processing uses your data solely to power your protocol — it is not used to train general AI models or shared with third parties for AI training purposes.

Data Storage

Your account data and protocol responses are stored in an encrypted PostgreSQL database. Audio practices and media files are stored on Cloudflare R2 object storage. We retain your data while your account is active. You can request deletion at any time — see Your Rights below.

Third-Party Services

We use a small set of trusted third-party services to operate the platform:

• Stripe — payment processing (we never see or store your card details)
• Neon / PostgreSQL — encrypted relational database
• Cloudflare R2 — media and audio file storage
• Render — application hosting and infrastructure
• Anthropic (Claude) — AI-powered protocol personalization
• Postmark — transactional email delivery (magic links, check-ins)

Each of these services maintains their own privacy policy and data security practices.

Your Rights

• Request a copy of your data
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Opt out of non-essential communications at any time

Cookies & Sessions

We use session cookies only for authentication — specifically to support magic link sign-in and keep you logged in across sessions. We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking pixels, or behavioral analytics cookies.

Age Requirement

The Soul Mechanic is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll notify you by email. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision.
